Her Majesty Ashi Tseyring Pem Wangchuck, as President, oversees the management and administration of the YDF with assistance from the Management Board.

The Management Board ensures the growth and sustainability of the fund, approves the annual budget, approves and monitors projects, and oversees the financial condition of the fund.  The Bhutan Youth Development Fund is audited by the Royal Audit Authority of Bhutan. The annual and periodical progress reports help monitor and evaluate activities supported by the Bhutan Youth Development Fund.

Dasho Wangchuk Dorji

1. What do you currently do?
I am the Vice-Chairman of Tashi Group. 

2. What inspired you to become a board member of YDF?
I truly believe that our future lies in the hands of our youth. Being a part of this institution ensures that aspect of our society is looked into.

3. What advice would you give to the youth of Bhutan?      Success in anything is achievable, and hard work is the key to it. Nothing can substitute good effort. 

Karma Dorji

1. What do you currently do?
I am employed in the private sector. 

2. What inspired you to become a board member of YDF?
The need to give back to society.

3. What advice would you give to the youth of Bhutan?
Pursue your goals; they are all achievable.

Sonam Thuji Tshering

1. What do you currently do?
I am employed in the private sector. 

2. What inspired you to become a board member of YDF?
The future of our country lies in the hands of our youth. I believe this should be an inspiration for all Bhutanese to make their own contributions in any which way they can.

3. What advice would you give to the youth of Bhutan?
Be optimistic and identify opportunities that exist. They may not be the ones that you envisioned, but be willing to try them anyway. Every opportunity is a stepping stone to where you want to be in life. Take full advantage of those opportunities so that you can live a meaningful and content life. 

Karma Yangley

1. What do you currently do?
I am employed in the private sector. 

2. What inspired you to become a board member of YDF?
I was inspired by Her Majesty the Queen Mother’s effort in ensuring that the needs of Bhutanese youth and children are met.

3. What advice would you give to the youth of Bhutan?
Never give up! 

Rinzi Om

1. What do you currently do?
I am working with the World Health Organization in Bhutan in the areas of Human Resource as well as Programs & Administration.      

 2. What inspired you to become a board member of YDF?
YDF reaches out to all the disadvantaged children in our country and it instigated me to make my own humble contributions to develop the youths of our country. 63% of Bhutan’s population are young people, and I am truly motivated to see a healthy and strong Bhutan in the future through constructive means of supporting our youth. I am also inspired having seen Her Majesty the Queen Mother selflessly dedicating her efforts to engage the youth of Bhutan on their paths to mental and physical development.

3. What advice would you give to the youth of Bhutan?
Show respect and affection to elderly people, be yourself, and don’t let negative elements affect you. Have a goal and work hard to reach that goal. 

   

Yandey Penjor

1. What do you currently do?
I’m enjoying my early retirement pursuing the things in life that I really didn’t have time for such as traveling, reading, practicing spirituality, housekeeping, and volunteering for YDF. 

2. What inspired you to become a board member of YDF?
I feel honored to be offered a place on the Board of YDF, an organization that I was fortunate to be a part of since its establishment in 1999 as its Executive Director. YDF gives me the opportunity to help ensure a future that is led by dynamic citizens with values and resilience to face the challenges of a rapidly changing society. YDF gives meaning to my life and a sense of responsible citizenship.

3.What advice would you give to the youth of Bhutan?
Always be true to yourself for you cannot cheat the person in the mirror. 

Rinzin Ongdra Wangchuk

1. What do you currently do?I am working in Yu- Druk tour and treks as CEO and President of ABTO( Association of Bhutanese Tour Operators). 

2. What inspired you to become a board member of YDF?

It gives me the greatest sense of responsibility and citizenry serving as a board member of the YDF. I believe each of us must contribute positively and effectively to uplift human life. The positive energy and blessings of our President and Vice President and their selfless contribution to the youth of Bhutan is so inspiring that I will not take a single step back in following and fulfilling the Royal commands.’

3. What advice would you give to the youth of Bhutan?

The Youth of Bhutan is special. If the youth put their mind and soul carefully together and work as a team, they can achieve anything. After all, everything great was done by another human.

Although we are small in numbers,  let’s use this as an advantage to achieve big dreams. After all, ‘No dream is too Big’.

Karma Lotey

1. What do you currently do?I am working as CEO of Yangphel Adventure travel. 

2. What inspired you to become a board member of YDF?

I was inspired by the vision and foresight of Her Majesty Ashi Tseyring Pem Wangchuck for the development of youth in Bhutan. That is “to address the growing needs of our youth and ensure that all youth have equal access to education, meaningful employment, and opportunities to realize their potential”. Hence, it is a privilege for me to serve as a Board member of YDF.

3. What advice would you give to the youth of Bhutan?

Having a youth voice is important as it gives us and society a real presence. Youth voices are important because decisions and policies made today will directly affect everyone as we inherit the future. So, we advise the youth to voice responsibility.

 

Pema Tenzin

 

1. What do you currently do? 

I am an entrepreneur, with a core business interests in manufacturing.

2. What inspired you to become a board member of YDF?

YDF facilitates a platform for me to share my experience with the future leaders of Bhutan and the opportunity to learn from the youth.

3. What advice would you give to the youth of Bhutan?

Believe in yourself while pursuing you passion. Set clear goals, embrace challenges and never forget that there is always a room to learn more.
